Why Fire-Rated Hardware Matters

A fire door is only as effective as its weakest component. Using non-fire-rated hardware can compromise the entire door assembly and void its certification.

All hardware used on a fire door must be tested and approved for the appropriate fire rating (FD30 or FD60). This includes hinges, locks, latches, closers, letter plates, and vision panel beading.
